Question: What is your favorite holiday memory and why?
Oakley: Ever since I could remember, my mom and grandma hauled all of us down to The Pink Palace every year to see the enchanted forest. With decorated christmas trees, trains, and gingerbread houses the enchanted forest was annual affair each December. I got so excited as I waited in line to see Santa each year, frantically trying to figure out the best thing to tell him on my christmas list. "A new bike? The NEW DS LIGHT?!?" I never could decide. I cherish those memories and still look forward to it every year. Just this past December I got to see my two year old nephew experience the magic for the first time. I saw him navigate his way through the north pole scavenger hunt and talk to Mr. Claus himself for the first time! It was a sight to see as he looked around and took in all the spirit of the season. It's a tradition that will again happen this year and many more after that.
Question: Why are you excited to share this show with your community?
Oakley: Because it's truly a great show that will remind you of all the christmases past and the christmases to come. The nostalgia of childhood memories of waiting up late at night for Santa to come or Christmas Eve service singing “O holy night” or “What child is this?”. Whether your alone of in full company these holidays you can come and be a part of our family for a night! And I’m so excited for the community to see this show and have the warmth of the season fill their hearts. Merry Christmas everyone!
