Q: What was your first experience with the Lion King story?
A: My first experience with the Lion King was whenever I was really little, and probably right before I went to Disney and saw The Lion King show. I have seen the movie many many times, and I also went to see Lion King at the Orpheum the last time it was in town,
Q: Why do you think people relate to Lion King?
A: I think that people relate to the Lion King in many ways, but I think we can all most identify with Simba. We all tend to run from our problems and just assume they’ll go away, but really they just haunt us until we decide to face them.
Q: What has the story of Lion King taught you?
A: I have most benefited off of the lesson that Rafiki taught us in The Lion King. “The past can hurt. But the way I see it you can either run from it, or learn from it.” This has taught me that even though I have made mistakes in the past, I can learn from my mistakes. My past self does not have to define who I will be in the future. I also learned to be true to who I am, and that forgiveness goes a long way.
