Once on this Island Jr. Cast Interview with Kelsey Moultrie!

Q: If you could control either love, death, water, or earth like the gods in the show, which one would you choose and why?

A: Although love is the most powerful, it is not something that can be contained or controlled, but rather a force that means something different to each of us. So love is out. Death, although very different from love, is similar. It is not something that is meant to be controlled by us, and especially not by me. That leaves Water and Earth, and out of the two of those I think water is cooler and more powerful. So water it is!

Q: "Why We Tell the Story" is just one of the amazing songs in Once on this Island! Why do you think telling a story through the arts is still important to society?

A: Stories are passed down from generation to generation, and in most stories there is a moral. We can use the arts to share important lessons with the audience in hopes of helping our society grow.

Q: Why are you most excited about sharing this particular story with your community?

A: Once on this Island provides us with a very powerful question. Which is stronger, Love or Death? Logically, Death wins every time right? How can an unseen force so-called “Love” win against something so inevitable like Death? It seems at the end that Death will prevail, but when you look at the full picture you can see that Love was there all along, and Love will go on even after Death. Once on this Island portrays this beautifully, and I am excited to share this particular concept of the show with my community.
